This is an extremely experimental build of POP Forums v9.3, which includes jQuery Mobile and mobile views baked in for mobile formatting sauce. It requires ASP.NET MVC 4 Beta, which you can download here. Of course, feel free to submit bugs to the issue tracker. See a live demo here: http://popforums.com/Forums What's new? NuGet Package of Week #11 - ImageResizer enables clean, clear image resizing in ASP.NET
Oct 1131The Backstory: I was thinking since the NuGet .NET package management site is starting to fill up that I should start looking for gems (no pun intended) in there. You know, really useful stuff that folks might otherwise not find. I'll look for mostly open source projects, ones I think are really useful. I'll look at how they built their NuGet packages, if there's anything interesting about the way the designed the out of the box experience (and anything they could do to make it better) as wel...

Installing and Running node.js applications within IIS on Windows - Are you mad?
Aug 1128Some folks on our team have been working on making node.js work awesomely on Windows. There's a few questions you might have. First, what's node.js? You can even see PDC 1999 if you like or see sessions by Speaker at http://channel9.msdn.com/Events/Speakers. Here are all my talks with a horrible headshot that I plan on asking Duncan to swap ou...

Redirecting Routes To Maintain Persistent URLs
Feb 1103Over a decade ago, Tim Berners-Lee, creator of the World Wide Web instructed the world know that cool URIs don’t change with what appears to be a poem, but it doesn’t rhyme and it’s not haiku. What makes a cool URI? A cool URI is one which does not change. What sorts of URI change? URIs don't change: people change them. In a related article, URL as UI, usability expert Jakob Nielsen lists the following criteria for a usable site: a domain name that is easy to remember and easy to spell...

Hosting Your Own Local and Remote NuPack Feeds
Oct 1021Note: Everything I write here is based on a very early pre-release version of NuPack and is subject to change. A few weeks ago I wrote a blog post introducing the first preview, CTP 1, of NuPack Package Manager. It’s an open source (we welcome contributions!) developer focused package manager meant to make it easy to discover and make use of third party dependencies as well as keep them up to date. As of CTP 1, NuPack by default queries an online ATOM feed temporarily located at http://go....
