TechDays Belgium 2012: a look at interesting sessions
Jan 1231TechDays 2012 Belgium is just 2 weeks away, and it’s time to have a look at the agenda and decide which of the sessions to attend. My highlights are: A Look at ASP.NET MVC 4 - Scott Guthrie MVVM Applied: From Silverlight to Windows Phone to Windows 8 - Laurent Bugnion SignalR. Code, not toothpaste - Maarten Balliauw Building rich Single Page Applications (SPAs) for desktop, mobile, and tablet with ASP.NET MVC 4 - Steve Sanderson But filling in all the slots was a tough decision, esp...

TechDays in Belgium and Netherlands
Jan 1230I’ll be presenting at the upcoming Belgium and Dutch TechDays next month. I’ll be doing three tech talks at each of the events: Overview of Windows Azure A look at ASP.NET MVC 4 ScottGu Unplugged I’m particularly excited about the “A look at ASP.NET MVC 4” talk as it will be the first time I’ve presented on it (and it is shaping up to a really great release – more blog posts on that soon). For more details on how to attend the event visit the Belgium Techdays and Dutch Techdays websi...

What’s new in ASP.NET MVC 4: slides and demo are now online
Jan 1217Today I had my first live webcast for Microsoft Belgium, about the new features released with ASP.NET MVC 4 at Build in September. There were around 80+ people registered and around 50 people attending, and almost nobody left before the end of the webcast, so I guess it pretty well. We also are aware there were some glitches in the audio during the async part of the webcast: the audio was also recorded directly from the mic, so the video that will be published in the next week on Channel9 wi...

Web API preview 6 is out: how to get a RESTful mind
Nov 1130As you may or may not have heard, yesterday WCF Web API preview 6 has been released. If you never heard about it I recommend you read the quick introduction on CodePlex, but basically it is a facility that helps you expose your services over the web, taking advantage of the richness of the HTTP protocol, in a RESTful way (vs using SOAP or other abstraction layers). Getting started resources on Web API To quickly get started with it you can download the code and samples, and download the co...

What I liked of Agile.NET 2011 Europe
Oct 1120A few weeks ago I attended the Agile.NET 2011 Europe conference, in Gent. In this post I just want collect some links to the slides of the event, and give some personal comments on the sessions and topics. Agile from A to Z It all started very early on Monday (probably it’s standard here in Belgium, but it’s my first conference that starts with the first session at 9:00am) with a nice keynote from Jon Jagger, titled “Agile from A to Z”. It was a nice collections of quotes and facts about Agi...

10 articles on ASP.NET MVC Extensibility to land on Simple-Talk in the next months
Sep 1126If you are following my blog since at least a few years you know that one of my main interest is the possibility to extend ASP.NET MVC and fine tune it to fit your (and your team’s) needs. One of my most popular posts is 13 ASP.NET MVC extensibility points you have to know, which I published almost 2 years and half ago (and was based on ASP.NET MVC v1). Still on the same subject I gave a two hours long presentation at Umbraco CodeGarden ‘10 Mvc Pre-Conf: ASP.NET MVC Extensibility. To try a...

TechDays Belgium: videos are online
Jun 1112At the end of April, Microsoft Belgium organized the TechDays Belgium, the annual developer and IT conference in Belgium, to which I had the pleasure to attend. I also manned the Ask The Expert booth and helped attendees with their questions about ASP.NET MVC, Orchard and web development. It was 3 days of very interesting sessions, ranging from the keynote/standup comedy show by Scott Hanselman to the ASP.NET MVC Deep Dive sessions by Hadi Hariri and to the Girls-Power WP7 development sessio...
